What does stewardship mean to me?

Sometimes I ask myself, what does stewardship mean to me?  The bible clearly spells out several examples of being a good steward.  Managing money properly, caring for the land, tithing and giving your time, are all things that are spelled out in the bible.  When I think about taking care of my home, it means keeping it from getting into bad shape.  This is the same for God’s house too, which is our church.  We have to keep it in good shape.  As it pertains to money, it means giving some money to take care of my needs and others needs.  The same is true at church.  We have to take care of our needs by learning about the Word of God and take care of others’ needs to help them.  If we all do our part, then no one has to go overboard or feel “put upon”.  We should give cheerfully…not grudgingly.  This is the secret!  It will only feel good if it comes from the heart.  So pray about being a good steward and let God use you!  You will be surprised how good you will feel.
