USHER BOARD: There will be an Usher Board meeting on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 am. We are inviting all active Ushers (adult & youth) and anyone who would like to join the Usher’s Board. NEW VISION UMC: Beginning the week of February 8th we are starting our church wide Lenten series entitled “Revealed in Red”. Our series this year is six weeks and in order to create synergy we are requesting that each small group purchase and utilize the materials for the entire study. The cost for the booklets and matching playing cards is $3.00. A schedule will be available this Sunday for all classes. The series will end Palm Sunday. If you have any questions, you may call the church or contact someone from the worship committee.

This Sunday begins our celebration of Black History month. You are encouraged to wear related attire and participate in the activities each week. If you are interested in highlighting a personality from the past, Please call the church office during the week. This year we lift up: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and President Barak Obama.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN: The United Methodist Women invite the women of New Vison to our monthly meeting. Virginia Hardin will be our keynote speaker, leading us in mediation on ‘Blind Bartimaeus” All women are welcome to come out and fellowship with us on February 27, 2016 from 10:00 am until noon, thank you Deborah Watkins.

TRACK MINISTRY: The Health Ministry continues to seek a Chair for the New Vision Track Ministry. Juanita Bridges has continued to serve beyond her December, 2015 resignation notice, but anxiously awaits a new chair. Please contact Angelene J. Hall, Chair of the Health Ministry, if you are interested in serving as Chair of the Track Program.

GO RED FOR WOMEN: Go Red Sunday will be recognized the last Sunday of this month, February 28, 2016. Each year, New Vision participates in the program by disseminating critical information for members and guests, checking blood pressures, and paying particular attention to the various illnesses affecting the health of the heart. Although nationally, women were encouraged to wear red on Friday Feb. 5, the Health Ministry would like New Vision women to wear RED also on Sunday, February 28th. Thank you for your support of this ministry, Angelene J. Hall, Chair of Health and Wellness Ministry.

NEW MEMBERS CLASS: A New Members Class is scheduled for three consecutive Saturdays starting March 5, 2016. Classes are held from 10:00 am. Until 12 noon. All new members are required to attend these classes in order to have full membership privileges. The classes are open to anyone interested in attending, but you must register by February 24, 2016. Please contact the church office to register or see Sylvia Kennedy if you have questions.

KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY CHOIR: The annual appearance of the Kentucky State University Concert Choir will be Friday, April 15, 2016, at Tryed Stone New Beginning Church, 5550 Reading Road, 45237. Tickets are $10.00 and benefit New Vision’s Scholarship Fund. See any member of the Scholarship Committee or Naomi Barkley for tickets.

CLASSICAL ROOTS: 150 Voice Choir of Classical Roots will be giving a 1 night only concert at Music Hall Friday, April 29, 2016 @ 7:30 pm. there are at least 10 members of New Vision who participate in this great concert.
