The Flowers on the Altar are Donated by the Simmons Family Happy Birthday Patricia Simmons

UNITED METHODIST MEN:  The United Men will meet the second Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Dukester Restaurant 7733 Reading Road at 1 pm.

HUMAN RELATIONS DAY:  Sunday, January 12 is Human Relations Day. Please give generously.

Thanks to everyone who participated in HalleBration 2019.  We had tremendous support from New Vision for Volunteers.  We also had great support from the various ministries in the church.  Our Scholarship Committee and the Youth raised funds. We received great visibility and recognition in the community and more canned goods for the Food Pantry. Over 1700 people attended this event for the two days.  They were welcomed by all with smiles and greetings.  We had over 60 businesses and sponsors present for this event and we also had out of town vendors.  We will have a full report of the finances in a few weeks and will update this information.   Most importantly we had a safe, fun weekend and families and friends were able to gather and fellowship while they enjoyed the vendors, music and entertainment.  Our lighting in the parking lot also helped to prevent intruders as our Security monitored the lot. This was a big improvement from last year.   All of the planning in advance helped to make this a success too.  The Trustees, Finance, Leadership Team, Youth Leaders and Worship Committee helped to pave the way for a successful event.  Joe Hampton coordinated our Volunteers and worked with the Center for Closing the Health Gap to insure their volunteers were incorporated with ours.  God smiled on us again this year and we will continue to be mindful of our Outreach into the Community.  Directories are available at the Welcome Center with all the information on the businesses that were present, if you were unable to attend.  Feel free to take one home.  Kathye Lewis Norman for the Leadership Team

2020 CENSUS REPORT:  As New Vision moves into 2020 we would like to know who we are.  So, we want to do our best to make sure that no one is left out, forgotten or overlooked.  Therefore, we are asking Everyone who is a member, worships, belongs and/or is affiliated with New Vision in any way to fill out a Survey Sheet and place it in the Offering Basket or in the basket in the back of the Sanctuary, by the end of December. We want everyone from the oldest to the youngest to fill out or have a survey filled out.  Thank you, in advance, for your participation and cooperation

Light UP New Vision:  Thanks to all of you who have supported the Light Up New Vision campaign.

We are coming to a close at the end of December.  We encourage each of you to complete your pledges and for those who would like to make a year-end gift, it is not too late!   We have been successful in getting most of our main areas completed.  We will faze the others in over time.  If you have any questions about your pledge, please contact Kathye Lewis Norman.  We will have a complete update in January on our progress.  God bless you for the holidays and we wish you a Happy New Year.   Betty Smith and Dr.Walter Bowers.

Classical Roots 2020: It’s time for Classical Roots 2020.  The date for next year is Friday, March 6, 2020 at Music Hall.  The concert will feature Internationally acclaimed Gospel artist, CECE Winans, from the super talented Winans family.  We have 24 seats reserved for $26.00 and $37.00 in Terrace 2.  These are great seats.  New Vision’s bus will be available for transportation.  Our church code is 11070 and you can call to reserve tickets in our section at 513.381.3300.  Deadline is February 9 to insure your seat.  You can also see Kathye Lewis Norman about tickets.  This is always a wonderful event so plan to join us there.

FOOD PANTRY:   Donations for the month of January Green Beans and Tuna.

God has given us different gifts!-Romans 12:6

As we come to the end of year, it is always a time of reflection.  As a church, we have accomplished a lot this year and it is due to us all having different gifts that can build on one another. A ministry is composed of several gifted individuals…led by a common vision God has birthed in its leader.  These individuals can typically be grouped into three categories: Visionary, Process oriented and Task oriented.  As you think about your stewardship in 2019 and what you would like to do in 2020, make sure you understand what gives you the emotional “high” in your work.  This is your area of giftedness.  When you understand and appreciate your gift and realize that we all have different gifts, there will be a blessing on our church and our ministries that will be too big for us to receive!  Let God lead your stewardship and release what is truly His to let it work in our body of Christ at New Vision!  (Excerpts from the Word for You Today)
