The Flowers on the Altar Donated by Karen W. Brentley: Happy Birthday to My Husband Rev. David J. Brentley &

My Son Dr. Kyle W. Oldham

STICKING TOGETHER:   Join us next Sunday during morning worship as we give an “update on our vision” and share how we are moving forward here at New Vision.

MEMBER UPDATE REQUEST:   We are asking all members to update their telephone number(s) including cell numbers, update their mailing addresses and also update their email addresses.  We are making a valiant attempt to be in touch with all of our members on a timely basis.

A WORD ABOUT STANDING FOR THE SCRIPTURE READING:  “There is no rule in the United Methodist Church to stand or not when any scripture, Old or New Testament, is being read. The act to stand or not is merely a personal preference for each individual.   Also, the correct or appropriate word to use is “rise” as opposed to “stand” because everyone may not be physically able to stand, but everyone can rise in mind, body and spirit.   So, if you are asked to read scripture, please just read it or say, “If you would like, I invite you to rise with me for the reading of the scripture.”

New Year- Dream Big! – Genesis 37:9

Ask God for a Dream.  “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”  Great endings usually start with humble beginnings.  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God…. If your dream is to prosper financially, it’s in harmony with God’s promises (Dt. 8:18) But there are three scriptural conditions that you must meet in order for your dreams to be fulfilled.  1) You must be willing to honor God with your present income (Mal 3:8-10)   2) You must be willing to share what you have and meet the needs of others (Pr. 11:25)   3) You must practice fiscal discipline rather than squandering what God gives you on reckless spending and impulse buying. (Pr. 21:20).  When you meet these conditions, God promises to bless you and fulfil the dream He has given you for your life. (Word for You Today-Nov-Jan)
