The Legacy of a King

Death has a profound impact on all who are touched by its unyielding grip. As we celebrate Black History, we are also in the midst of the Lenten Season. Dually both remind us of the painful price of freedom and liberation. In our text for this morning, Isaiah tells us that it was the year of Uzziah’s death when he also saw the Lord.
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. became a martyr of the civil rights movement and ultimately paved the way for his tremendous legacy to begin. Today we celebrate the legacy of a king. Dr. King’s death left a void that ultimately can never be filled. But in his death see also the Lord.
