THANK YOU: Rev. Worthen, Rev. Brentley, and my New Vision Family, I will never forget your kindness. Many thanks to each and every one of you who helped me and Brian celebrate the life and home going of my beautiful mother-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Harris, she will truly be missed. She loved her church and wanted to come one more time but God took her home first… Sincerely, Mary and Brian and family.
SENDING A NOTE OF THANKS: Just to let you know that I really treasure you. Thanks for everything, cards, visits, prayer. Edna Black and family.
SHALL WE PRAY! The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. James 5:16b Drive-thru prayer at New Vision has now begun! We were overjoyed at the response from the community to our first day of drive-thru prayer. There were tears of joy, new friends were made, and lives were touched and changed. Honks of support continued throughout the day! We will offer our next prayer ministry on Wednesday, May 2, 4-6 pm. We need people to hold signs and direct traffic, as well as intercessors. We also welcome donations to begin to offer water and light snacks to our prayers and visitors. Please let Pastor Worthen know if you would like to be a part of this powerful ministry, or simply come out and join us!
WHAT’S STOPPING YOU? As they were going along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is to prevent me from being baptized?” Acts 8:36 This season of Easter is the perfect time for those who have not been baptized to be ushered in to the body of Christ. This is also a holy time to remember our own baptisms. New Vision will have a special baptismal and remembrance service on Pentecost Sunday, May 20th. We will be bringing in a portable pool so that those who wish to be immersed can be baptized, or remember their baptism through this special service. Shorts and dark T-shirts are recommended. If you sign up in advance, t-shirts will be specially ordered for you. We already have people signed up. Please let Pastor Worthen, or Minister Vanessa Bossard know if you would like to go to the water! Signup sheets are located in the sanctuary.
BIBLE STUDY: Due to events after service the next few weeks, there will be no Bible study after church until May 27th.

SAVE THE DATE! The Ministerial Recruitment Institute, or MRI, is a weeklong spiritual retreat within
the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church for youth ages 12-18. Its goal: to create a space and an environment conducive to allowing young people to hear, question, consider, struggle, and respond to God’s call and claim on their lives to become true Christian disciples, leaders, ministers, pastors and evangelists. We live, sing, play, worship, study, pray, laugh and cry together that week, as we all are there to “leave each person, place and session better than we found them/it” under the divine hand of Almighty God. This year’s MRI dates are: July 15-20, 2018. The total cost for the week includes all meals, the banquet and dorm room is $180. We are in the process of trying to raise scholarship funds for those who need it to be sure everyone who is interested can attend. Please see Pastor Worthen or contact the office for applications.
FOOD PANTRY: For May please donate: Tuna and boxed Jell-O
